Capcom's latest online title Ixion Saga was quite enjoyable and entertaining. Wondering how the game looks and plays like? Then you're in luck, I will be sharing some of the basic gameplay mechanics along with a handful of gameplay videos in 1080p. The game itself is currently in it's alpha testing phase, so some of the information in this article may turn out to be irrelevant in the near future. As of the moment Capcom is testing out it's battle system, so no PvE content available yet. I am not sure if it will be available in the future, pretty sure MHF fans are looking to down some huge monsters! Check out the first mini preview of Ixion Saga Alpha Test below!
Caster Gameplay
Let's jump straight to the point, the objective of the game is to eliminate the other team. Killing other players decreases their team HP/Bar which is located on top side of the screen. Which ever team has the most HP by the time runs out, wins the game! Kind of like playing a fighting game, except you're up against a bunch of other players at once. There are two ways to chip down the opposing teams life bar, one of the popular ways is to smash their vehicle located at their spawn point. It's a bit hard to tell if you're chipping down the enemy vehicle's HP, but in reality you are. Your team will only be able to break their vehicle once, so after you have done it successfully the opposing teams life would decrease down by 50%. From here on out you're forced to kill the opposing team bringing the rest of their HP down to 0% or timing them out. You and your team members should keep an eye out for a breakable rock containing a very powerful item that instantly eliminates the opposing team! It may sound a bit overpowered but it is easily counterable, just as long as you rush the user carrying the item and kill him before he returns it safely to his base.
Striker Gameplay
There are two ways to recover HP one is being healed by a Caster and the other is by rescuing a fallen teammate in the field. Whenever a fallen ally becomes incapacitated they get stunned for a short period of time. You must make haste and run to them ASAP when you're close enough press and hold the Q key to resurrect them. A bit of fondling with that persons chest, and they will surely come back to life safe and sound, at the same time restoring you and your fallen members HP to full. If the enemy team ends up pressing Q before you do next to your fallen ally, then he will finish them off at the same time restoring their MP to full. The only reason you want to finish off an enemy with Q is to see a cool animation or restore mp. Other than that you can finish them off normally with a single attack, it may sound a bit confusing but that's why I have a bunch of gameplay videos for ya! Saving your allies is a must because it saves them a lot of time from the lengthy respawn timer and the trip back to battle.
